Equal is committed to conducting our operations in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. We maintain policies, plans and programs aimed to ensure the health and safety of our employees and all others involved in, or impacted by our operations and to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment.
In our Hunton play in Oklahoma, where large volumes of water are routinely circulated and disposed of in special facilities, Equal embarked on the installation of doubly redundant, automated emergency shut-down systems in all water handling and disposal locations. An additional inspection and replacement program of sensitive piping was also undertaken. These programs are designed to reduce the risk of salt water and hydrocarbon spills.
The oversight of Equal's HSE policies and practices is managed by the Reserves and HSE Committee of the Board of Directors.
Community Support
Equal's community support program is primarily intended to contribute to the quality of life in communities in or near where Equal operates and to encourage volunteering in the community by our employees, contractors and consultants. The program is administered by a committee consisting of employees from both our head office and field locations. The Company provides support to a variety of charitable and not-for-profit organizations and causes including the areas of health and wellness, enviornment and safety, and education and development of youth. Donations are made both financially and in kind through donations of office furniture and equipment.
